CastleGuard has two great training programs: The Started Puppy Program – basic on leash obedience, crate trained and foundation house training. This trianing is done here at the house by Taylor or Jade. CastleGuard salutes Tonya Crawford and CastleGuard’s Enyo for earning a CDX, an ATTS and an advance Rally title with the perfect score of 100 on her last leg just in the past two months. Enyo has now earned a CDX, ATTS, CD, RN, RA & CGC. We are proud of our working family members!
We would like to send out a huge congratulations to CastleGuard Diego’s Owners , Ron & Alisia Verdoorn and his handler, Derek Matson. Diego is the top winning AKC Corso in 2010, all systems! He defeated more Corsos and scored more group points than any other Corso in 2010. We are thrilled and proud to be apart of this historic event. A big thank you team Diego!
We are pleased to announce that we did very well this year, again, in the show ring. We have 2 dogs in the top ten (including the 1# dog) and a third in the top 15. We won lots of points and majors on our puppies. The girls did great, as usual. We couldn’t be more proud! We proved again this year that a CastleGuard dog is hard to beat :) A few photos..
CastleGuard’s Diego does it again! He made history as the very first Cane Corso AKC Grand Champion. As of this posting he is also ranked #1 top winning AKC Corso in both Breed and Group points. Our special thinks to Derek Matson, his expert handler and the Verdoorns for showing the world this CaslteGuard dog.
This month’s AKC Gazette was the first to EVER run an article/photos about the Cane Corso. Of all the photos that were submitted, the AKC choose 3 CastleGuard pix; of course the famous photo of Teal’c, Midas in the woods and Bruce sired blue puppies. We are thrilled to have some of our dogs chosen to introduce the Corso to the US! Here is the link to the article. I was so proud of them. The atmosphere was laid back and it was wonderful for us to see our Corso family again. We met lots of great new people and we look forward to building friendships with them as well.

At just 6 months, CastleGuard StarDust triumphed over all the older class dogs to win Winners Bitch and on to Best of Winners at the 2010 CCAA Nationals. It was her first time off the farm and boy are we proud she did so well at such a very young age. Looks like yet another CastleGuard corso is heading for the history books. Congrats to our Jade for an awesome job handling our star puppy.
Diego was chosen as Best of Breed at the SACCI Nationals in Ohio. World famous Italian Breeder and Judge, Mariano Di Chicco, chose Diego out of 74 Corsos. Thanks to Derek Matson for once again using his great handling skills to show the world that CastleGuard dogs are truly at the pinnacle of the breed!
CastleGuard Diego has earned the very prestigious award of CCAA (AKC parent Breed club) Dog of the Year 2009. Diego defeated twice as many dogs as any other male corso in 2009. Diego is King of the ring!!
CastleGuard Nicoletta is Sogni has eared the CCAA Bitch of the Year award for 2009. Nikki defeated more Corsos in 6 months than any other Female, setting an all time record. She already holds the record for Best in Show wins by a Female. Nothing comes close!! Hail to the Queen!!
